Christian Services for the Blind and Hearing Impaired (CSFBHI) was organised in 1973 to help the totally and partially blind, and for sighted people who are unable to read normal ink print conveniently due to physical handicaps. CSFBHI is listed by the National Library of Australia in its library services for the handicapped and also in the directory of services for the Australian National Council for the Blind.
All services of the CSFBHI are free to the client and are funded by personal gifts and donations, and the resources of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia–New Zealand.
CSFBHI is a charity under the law and offers tax-deductibility for donations and bequests in Australia.
CSFBHI is funded by a biannual church offering, and donations and bequests, which together fund its free services. These include advocacy and awareness building, audio and braille resources for the blind, captioning and audio augmentation for the Deaf and hard of hearing, and development grants to qualifying blind or deaf individuals or related organisations. You can donate at anytime. To do so, use eGiving to make an online tax-deductible donation.
April 25, 2020: Possibility Ministries Sabbath
More than a billion people live with a disability — blindness, deafness, mental or physical impairment — worldwide, and some are in your church. On this Sabbath, reach out to them and their families with the gift of friendship and inclusion. Produce a special program that includes those with special needs, and give consideration, support and loving care to the families and carers of those with special needs. And remember, it isn’t about their needs and limitations, but their possibilities.
